A poem in memory of Mary Ryan by her friend Jo Gillard:

Shed no tears for me, my friends
Don't use those blessed eyes
For weeping at my passing,
It's no time for tears and sighs.

Shed no tears for me, my loves,
Remember me with a smile,
You know that we shall meet again
In a very little while.

Shed no tears for me, my dears,
I'm happy in what I do,
In Glory I'll be with the Lord,
I'm waiting there for you.

My life has been in waiting,
For the Lord to call me home,
Day by day I lived for this,
To see "Thy Kingdom Come".

I cannot take you with me,
And I'm loathe to let you go,
But my end is my beginning so
Let's get on with the show.

Don't worry dearest sister,
We shall not make a fuss,
The million tears that we shall shed
Will only be for us
