2009 Pilgrimage
The 2009 pilgrimage was a great success with all pilgrims having a good
time despite a tummy bug.
Don't forget that if you wish to
provide feedback for our review on the 18th please send it as early as

Helpers' Handbook Errata
The Helpers’ Duties and Information
Handbook distributed on the 10th May incorrectly states the various mobile
telephone numbers assigned to the Medical Staff and Senior Helpers on page
8.
The corrections and corrected
versions are available on the Helpers News
page.
Stansted Return Flight
Our lucky Stansted flight
pilgrims will now have a few extra hours in Lourdes as our return flight
to Stansted has been moved to 18:30 (arriving at 19:30). We
will have the use of the Accueil for a little longer.
Remember to adjust your travel
arrangement from Stansted airport accordingly.
Monty McCardle RIP
It is with great sadness that we
report that Montague McCardle
passed
away suddenly at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Sunday 11th January 2009 at
around 5.20 am. He was 83 years old and will be sadly missed by all who
knew him.
A dedicated Brancardier and
member of the Knights of Saint Columba, Monty first joined the Society on
pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1977.
He received his Silver Medal for service to the Pilgrimage in 1981 and
his 30 year star for Pilgrimage service in 2006. He enrolled as a Life
Friend of the Society in 1991 and was a generous benefactor to both the
Society and to the Brancardiers' Association. Since 2005 we were blessed
by his company on our Pilgrimage as a Sick Pilgrim, in the Accueil Notre
Dame.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful
departed, through the Mercy of God and the Intercession of Our Lady, rest
in peace.
